Chun Chen is a computer applications expert, a native of Xiangshan, Zhejiang Province. He is a Professor and Doctoral Supervisor at the College of Computer Science and Technology, Zhejiang University, Director of the Faculty of Information Technology at Zhejiang University, Chief Scientist of the National Digital Printing Engineering Technology Research Center, and a member of the National New Generation Artificial Intelligence Strategic Advisory Committee. He received his Ph.D. in Computer Applications from Zhejiang University in 1990. He has served as the Dean of the College of Computer Science and Technology, Dean of the Software College, and Director of the Institute of Computer Software, all at Zhejiang University. He was one of the first experts selected for the National Education Commission’s “Cross-Century Outstanding Talent Training Program,” a first-batch Distinguished Expert of Zhejiang Province, and a recipient of the Third China Youth Science and Technology Award. He was awarded the National May 1st Labor Medal in 2012 and was elected as a member of the Chinese Academy of Engineering in 2015.

He has long been engaged in cutting-edge research in the field of computer applications, publishing nearly 220 papers in renowned international academic journals and conferences, authoring three books, and holding over 65 authorized invention patents. Dedicated to integrating high-level research with industrial applications, he has led the development of several engineering systems, including the “Computerized Silk Printing Pattern Design, Color Separation and Plate-Making Automation System” and the “Textile Digital Printing System,” which have been widely adopted and achieved significant success. He has received one Second Class National Award for Technological Invention, two Second Class National Awards for Scientific and Technological Progress, and six First Class Provincial and Ministerial Science and Technology Awards. In recent years, he has led his research team in focusing on the research and development of big data, artificial intelligence, and blockchain technologies and systems, with resulting achievements being widely applied in relevant fields.
